Sharan has gone back to SIngapore for good today. Sharan is Nadia's housemate. She is also a close fren to Gurbin, my Housemate. Sharan is a teacher back in Singapore.

Cherry Picking @ Stella Creek

Today, I went cherry picking. Yun and Izuddin pick me up at Flinders Housing at about 8.15 a.m. , rite after i finish cooking Ayam Kuali for Mak Tam at her place. (Mak Tam is having some guest from Malaysia. Mak Tam masak nasi lemak for breakfast and I helped Mak Tam to cook the Ayam Kuali for her guest. The nite before, I baked bread butter pudding for the Cherry picking trip, so I baked one tray for Mak Tam too.)

So, the journey to adelaide hill begins. This time they convoyed guna jalan luar instead of us guna jalan dalam semalam. At some points i saw the roads that we used yesterday. Its like, semalam kami guna jalan dari arah utara, today, these people guna jalan dari arah selatan. Haaaiiihhhh.. But Mak Tam, I remember the road now... then we can go again with Kak Su and Kak Mas eyyhh....he..he..

The place is beautiful. Tgk je la gambar kat sini okay... the owner of the cherry farm told us that we can only 'help' him to keep his business if we only put 1 out of 19 cherries we picked in our mouth, and not 19 in the mouth and 1 in the basket ha..ha..ha... but we had fun petik the cherries and put straight into the mouth he..he..he...

in the end, i managed to pick 2.3 kilos of cherries. The most i picked are the dark cherries and a little bit of white cherries.. Haa... bolehla buat part time he..he.. no la, just kidding. ( i gave half of the cherries to Mak Tam and her guest sebab Mak Tam kirim beli Cherry but, tak de jual, kena petik sendiri he..he...)...

Later after Cherry Picking, we went for picnic kat i forgot the name of the park. he..he.. again, gambar boleh tgk kat sini. Banyak food and smua pun sedap. Lepas makan kenyang, we went to Mount Lofty pulak. Lepas tu, masing masing pun balik.

Adelaide Hill

We got lost at Adelaide Hill today. Worst, I am the navigator!!! Haiiiyooooh.... But I followed exactly what that Google thingy told me to do. Okay, a few days before, Me and Mak Tam Suzie was trying to get the direction to Stella's Creek for cherrie picking. Stella pun advise to follow the Google punya directions. So, kami pun buat online and I print it out and study the Map.

May sound easy okay... sampai je kat Highway, haaa.. tunggang terbalik directions dgn signboard tak sama. MACAM MANA NIH???? dalam map kata Adelaide Crafers Highway but kat signboard Princess Highway. Map kata masuk Main St on the left, Main St punya signboard pun Tarak!!! We went as far as nak sampai Handorf dah...but then pusing balik. Later we gamble je la masuk kat Mount Lofty Exit. Then i took the print out map and directions and tanya kat Aussie yang tgh jalan nak pi church. So, kami ikut, okay, we are on the right track mcm dalam directions now....
Oh yeah, Kak Mas drove us in Kak Lin and Abg Man's car. WHo's Kak Mas? She's from Canberra. Datang ke adelaide for a conference.

So i pun navigate kak Mas ikut arahan dalam directions, wahhh Kami pun meredah la Ulu Adelaide ni, ada kambing biri biri, all kind of Ladangs, Lembu, Kuda and all. Sampai lah ke Merchants Rd. The direction starts to buat perangai again here. Kami ikut the direction to turn tight at Merchant Rd and we ended up at a jalan yang macam denai kat ULU SEPRI... sebelah kanan gaung, sebelah kiri bukit tingggi nun.... So, Pusing balik, time is running short, Stella's Creek pun nowhere to be seen and dah nak tutup. So we drove back ke pangkal jalan.

So, we didn't get to pick cherry today becoz we sesat. We went to Mount Lofty instead to have our picnic. Izati goreng bihun and buat roti gulung sardin ( she did that while me and suzie went to CM and then airport to pick up Kak Mas). Kak Mas and Izati is happy to go up the hill and view the city. Izati dok cari Flinders dari Mount Lofty but tak nampak...

Tomorrow, Sunday , Nov 30th, I'm going Cherry Picking again !!! he..he.. this time with Zul, Jibah,Yun, Izzudin, Kak Lin, Abang Man, Izati and Dr Laili. Konvoi ramai-ramai. Yun ajaked me on Thursday and sayang plak kalau tak gi, walaupun, dan janji nak pi dgn Mak Tam on saturday. Tak pa... pi dua kali pun tak pa...Tapi since dah sesat tadi, lagi seronok nak pi esok....They are going to Stella's Creek too...Let see this time, jalan mana yang depa nak guna and sampai ke tak... he..he...

PINGU HAD AN ACCIDENT =(

I called home moments ago. Just to say hi to my orang orang pencen, Ba is going for Haji this year. He is leaving on the 1st of Dec. Yeah, I spoke to Ba yesterday jugak, he is coughing. So just wanna check on him today.better or not?

Kak Asmah answered the phone. No one is at home. Kata Kak Asmah, “smuanya ke surau”. Oh ye tak ye, malam ni Malam Jumaat. Slalu akan ada event kat surau.

Kak Asmah said I sounded different and she thought I am sick. He..he.. Tak la Kakak, saya baik-baik saja...Sihat semuanya...

So I chat a little with Kak Asmah. Tanya dia tgh buat apa? katanya tengah basuh piring. Kak Asmah buat lawak plak, rindu nak makan kuewtiaw goreng. he..he.. She also asked me bila husna nak balik. he...he... tunggguuuu....

Then I asked her,

Husna : Kucing sihat Kakak?

Kak Asmah : Sihat smuanya...Cuma itu... Pingu ...apa tu...?berlanggar

Husna : Accident?......HAAA ACCIDENT?!!!!!! KAT MANA? BILA? APA JADI? TERUK? SAPA BAWAK PI KLINIK? BLA?BLA?BLA? ( TERKEJUT,RISAU la.........)

Kak Asmah : Di depan rumah. Di langgar sama kereta. Pingu kalau main, di luar terusss, di jalan sana.

Husna : Sapa Nampak dia accident?

Kak Asmah : Waktu itu Bapak di depan sama orang yang kemari tgk kereta. Pingu di luar terus.

Husna : Pingu menjerit tak masa kena langgar kakak?

Kak Asmah : Iyaa...BUnyi meeowww gitu.... abis sudah di langgar, lariiii terus ke belakang.

Husna : Paused

Kak Asmah : Lariiii masuk ke kamarnya...(boleh tak, sangkar kucing tu kakak refer to as Kamar as in Bilik...)

Husna : Paused again.... tak tau nak kata apa..

Kak Asmah : Udah masuk ke kamar, aku lihat sama dia. Hidungnya susah bernafas.nafasnya keatas terus... habis, dia baring mcm tidur, aku fikir udah mati, aku pegang, pas dia bangun...(kakak ni buat saspen je tau.)

Husna : Apa jadi kak? Luka ke? Patah kaki ke?

Kak Asmah : Mukanya sebelah jadi biru. Ku rasa di langgar di pipi sama kepalanya mungkin.

Husna : Bapak tau ? Farhan?

Kak Asmah : Iya, tahu... Bapak jugak lihat pingu di kamar.Farhan tak ada. Tak lama, farhan pulang, di bawanya ke hospital. Pulangnya lagi sama Ubat..

Haiiihhhhh... Pingu, pingu... Tak berapa hari lagi nak celebrate 1^st birthday ni...accident plak. Nakal sungguh anak kucing yang seekor ni.

Pelanduk dua serupa part 2

Kak Nita, Encik Talib, Kak Lin, Kak Ogy, Nadia and me went to the Student Center to inform about the KPT ( Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi) punya benda alah. After it is settled, we headed for lunch. Kak Lin & Kak Ogy didn't join coz they had their lunch earlier. So it's just me, Nadia, Kak Nita and En Talib.

We had lunch infront of The Wholefood Store. Masing masing dgn bekal masing masing. So we ate and chit chat. So, when we are about to finish, I saw ......
"Nadia... tu la orang yang I kata mcm radhi Khalid tu..."
"Ha... iya lah... sama gak la...."

So i told Kak Nita and En. talib to take a glance at that mamat. And we laugh coz memang nak sama. Encik talib says Radhi Khalid is much more Kurus.

Nights at Rodanthe

I’ve waited since September to watch Nights at Rodanthe ( NAR). When I first heard about on Sunrise, tak sabar dok tunggu but then, I found out that it only opens on Nov 4^th in Australia. Today, I went to watch it with Nadia. Finally...It’s been so long since I last watched Richard Gere’s Movie. If i am back home, mesti dah drag Mak and Mak su to go and watch this movie coz they are both Richard Gere’s fan too he..he.. he...

I was kinda free today after Marian cancelled our meeting as we worked VERY VERY VERY hard during the weekends with the proposal and the Ethics thingy. I went with Nadia coz Mak Tam Suzie and Izati is having their final exams in a few days time. Plus, My date with Mak Tam and Izati is to go and watch AUSTRALIA with them later.

NAR is a very Sweet, Touching and Inspiring movie form Nicholas Sparks’s novel. I cried after about 3/4 the movie and Nadia thought that I was having my running nose. She laughed at me after the movie when she found out that I really cried. But it really is touching. Its not just bergenang air mata kind of sedih, ni sampai meleleh air mata sampai merah and bengkak gak la mata he..he..he... I dun wanna tell why I cried becoz if you haven’t watch it, it will be such a spoiler kan... It wasn’t only me who cried but also the other ‘Makciks” and ‘Akak-akak’ and oh ya, ‘neneks” too. The last time I cried teruk mcm ni is masa tgk SEPI dgn Mak and Mak Su. Nasib baik Mak bawak bnyk tisu coz mine habis since SEPi is sooo sedih he..he..he...

Vision 2020

Vision 2020 was first mentioned back in 1991. It was introduced by our former Prime Minister , Tun Mahathir Mohamed during the tabling of our Sixth Malaysian Plan. Vision 2020 aims at self-sufficient industrial developed nation, complete with an economy, in 2020 that will be eightfold stronger than the economy of the early 1990s.

Tun Mahathir himself has outlined 9 challenges that must be overcome in order to achieve Vision 2020. The challenges are :

• To form a nation that stands as one.
• To produce a Malaysian community that has freedom, strength, and full of self confidence.
• To develop a mature democratic community.
• To form a community that has high morale, ethics and religious strength.
• To cultivate a community that is matured and tolerant.
• To form a progressive science community.
• To cultivate a community rich in values and loving culture.
• To ensure the formation of a community with a fair economy.
• To cultivate a prosperous community.

As far as I am concerned, when it first being introduced, it came with a song called Wawasan 2020. The lyrics goes like this,

Dengan berbakti dengan megah

Hadapi cabaran masa muka
Penuh tenaga murni

Yes, I used to sing it when I was young, not only in my primary school events, but also when it was aired on the television each time before the news was being aired. At that age, I just sing the song without understanding what the real meaning behind the song is. Enough to say that I don’t even know what vision 2020 or wawasan 2020 is at that time. All I understand is that, its kinda similar to my dad’s car number. And it’s 202. I kept telling him that he missed another 0 in the number. But No…. he explained that our car number is not 2020, but only 202.

Yes, I was 11 years old and not bright enough at that age to know what Wawasan 2020 is. What I have in mind is futuristic Malaysia lengkap dgn space ships and all. When I was young, I was taught that in the future, the sky will be dark and we will even have space ships and those higher ground train! Thank God, we really are having LRT and Star thingy, at least tak la terkilan tak de space ships mcm dalam futurama tu he..he..

( ala, dulu-dulu dalam art class kalau suruh buat lukisan masa depan, smua akan lukis mcm tu…. Cikgu pun tak marah he..he..)

As I grew older, I get what Wawasan 2020 is but it got lost along the way again as I sat for my SPM, then secured myself a place in Institut Teknologi Mara ( now known as UiTM). I was too busy with Uni/Student life. After one to another stage of studies, jumping from here to there.

I finally had my real encounter with Vision 2020 again during MBA in Dr Zaini’s GBI (Globalization Business Issues) Class. He makes us listen to all his lectures for each of the 9 challenges in achieving vision 2020. Yup, most of my classmate including me was yawning and some even slept along the way. But it was an eye opener to some of us who realizes the important of it. Not only we had to listen to the lecture, but to participate in the discussion where the whole class choose to keep quiet except you know who. After the lecture, we are required to submit a critique paper on Vision 2020. ( Goshhhh !!! It was so easy to write academicals stuff those days compared to now… it was only a year ago… Am I getting that old ?…or have I lost IT?….I guess, my neurons are all used up and long gone being used for unnecessary purposes….he..he..)

Then, it was mentioned again when I undergo my BTN course in Ulu Sepri. Not to much ga..ga on Wawasan 2020, but now the Islam Hadhari concept which we have to memorize for the exam. ( Tapi tak keluar exam pun… gud trick though to make us memorize before leaving Malaysia so that we know how to explain it to the supervisor he..he..….=)…)

As Malaysian, I really think that all of us should know what vision 2020 and the hadhari concept is. There’s so many changes, since 1991 till now and we have managed to overcome some of the challenges. Yes, there’s argument here and there and we still have 12 years till the year 2020. But please remember that, 12 years is not far away like the Far Far Away Land in Shrek 2. For all you know, suddenly you wake up one morning, its already 1^st of Jan, 2020. What kind of Malaysia will it be by then? Can we overcome all the 9 challenges by then? Or have we ? Who’s the Prime Minister? Lots of ???

and oh ya, will Malaysia be having its National Minimum Wage by then?

( coz that’s the issue that led me on to writing this in the middle of the night….)

Gosh…I’ll turn 40 by then…..hmmm… the ???? is increasing in my head….

I woke up this morning in TERGEZUT DINASOUR mode !!!

Aik ! dah PAGI ????!!!!
And I tot I just took a snooze kejap je just lepas maghrib ...
Tetiba dah pagi ni ! ......( hilang kata-kata kejap........)........
I guess I was too tired and ....aahhh... nevermind.


Went to office early today coz I am supposed to meet my supervisor today to discuss on the progress of my Ethics Proposal and stuff. Since I dah TIDO tak sedar semalaman ( tapi, mimpi kelakar gak sebenarnya he..he..he..), nak kena Qada’ la kerja skit. When i reached Office, ada la seorang Minah Salleh ni dalam office, and later, Llainey came over to help this Minah Salleh to do her work.

As I was doing my work, suddenly, the alarm went Beep…beep…beep…… I looked at Llainey, “Is that supposed to be like the fire alarm? Are we having the Fire Drill today? ” , I asked her.
“Yeah….let’s go…” Said Llainey
“ohhh …ohh..….grab your sunnies too” said the Minah Salleh.

Me, dunno anything, just grab my sunnies and follow them. Ewaahh... my first fire drill overseas ni he..he...
On the way, I met Keith, my co-supervisor. As I met Keith, there’s an announcement going on and after the announcement, Keith told me to not evacuate the building yet and to tell the rest, and he himself, jalan la pi balik ke bilik dia. Hmmmm…. Ok lah… ikut je lah… ( Faham the announcement but pelik, haaah… tak pe lah, kitaa ikut je..)

Then I went to join Llainey and the rest yang tengah dok berkumpul kat tangga. Laurence and Anna pun ada. ( I love to see both Laurence and Anna. Diorang ni tgh dating sebenarnya he..he… comel and shoo shweeet je….) The alarm is still going on but kami dok berkumpul kat tangga. Trish pulak, sibuk kehulu kehilir dgn topi merah (topi construction worker tu…) dia. After a while, new alarm bunyi, ha.. masa ni lah baru semua orang nak evacuate the building. So, we went down and gather kat lorong nak turun ke Lake tu. So, apa lagi, bersembang lah semua orang he..he.. About 10 minits, one lady with white topi, come around and say
“Okay. That’s all people !! Thank you for your participation! Have a gud day!”

So we balik lah ke bilik masing-masing sambung buat kerja. Then, Trish dating and explain kat kami kat bilik 394,
“Okay, Next time, when the alarm goes Beep…beep…beep……, do not evacuate the building yet…evacuate when the alarm goes WHooop…..whoop….whoop….”
Oooo….macam tu ke rupanya….
